Bodog Odds on Nashville Predators Feature Shea Weber as Norris Favorite
The popular betting site Bodog has released their NHL player prop bets for the 2011-2012 season. A few Nashville Predators have odds listed for major awards and over/under for points and wins. But rather than sort through the long lists to find your favorite players, follow after the jump for a complete list of the Predators and their odds for the season.
Norris
After narrowly missing out on the award last year, Shea Weber is listed as the favorite for the Norris trophy at 4/1. Behind him are Chara at 9/2, Lidstrom at 13/2, Mike Green at 7/1, and Drew Doughty at 10/1. Ryan Suter is not on the list, but if you think Suter has a chance, you can take the field at 9/1.
Vezina
Despite finishing second in voting for the Vezina trophy last year, Rinne doesn't even make the top 5 list of candidates this year, according to Bodog. Rinne, at 10/1, is tied for sixth with Marc-Andre Fleury behind Ryan Miller (5/1), Tim Thomas (7/1), Roberto Luongo (15/2), Henrik Lundqvist (8/1), and Carey Price (9/1).
Calder
No Predators made the list of Calder candidates to vote on. Notable Preds who are eligible for the award this year, given to the top rookie in the league, are Blake Geoffrion, Jonathon Blum, and Craig Smith. The favorites are Brayden Schenn (3/1), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (7/2), and Gabriel Landeskog (11/2). But if you think one of Nashville's rookies will win it, the field is set at a meager 3/1.
Over/Under
You can take bets on the following players based on their point totals for the year:
Patric Honrqvist: 50 1/2
Martin Erat: 50 1/2
Shea Weber 47 1/2
Ryan Suter: 40 1/2
And for total wins by a goaltender:
Pekka Rinne 32 1/2
Personally, I'd take the over on Hornqvist and Rinne and the under on Suter. What do you think of those odds? If you had to put your money where your mouth was, which of these bets would you take?

Yes, Weber will win it.......
but will he still be in a Preds jersey when he wins it is the big question.
Defense keeps you in games........offense wins them!

No respect for Pekka…..unbelievable. Something tells me this will stick in his craw and he will be a beast this year.
Over on Suter
Suter put up 45, 37 and 39 points during the past 3 years (last year playing only 70 games). He’s 26 (will be 27 in January), entering or in his prime, and playing for a contract. I like the over.
The Calder is all about ink
…and the best hockey writers in Nashville publish blogs, so one of the sparkling kids in the Northern headlines will win it. I’m still taking the field based on the promise in Craig’s preseason and Jon’s playoff performance. It’s in my gut. I’m thinking they’ll get themselves noticed.

So, looking at our forward lines as the currently stand..........
You’ve got, once Fisher returns, a top 6 consisting of Fish, Leggy, Willy, Erat, SK74 and HornQ. You’ve got a 4th line of likely Smithson, Spaling and Halischuk/Stortini. That leaves us with a 3rd line of Smith, Tootoo and……..Cal? Bergfors? Geoffrion? There lies a sticky scenario for Trotz & Poile. Neither Cal or Bergfors are suited to 4th line duty and there’s only one spot open on the 3rd line. We may send Blake down, but we’re certainly going to get him back into the lineup sooner rather than later. That leaves at least one of Cal or Bergfors on the outside looking in.
Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.

Substitute “they” for “the” in the title. Edit button…….need edit button. :/

Maybe this...
I wouldn’t put Leggy on the top six, but rather O’Reilly..
Erat/Fisher/Hornqvist
Wilson/O’Reilly/Kostitsyn
Bergfors/Leggy/Tootoo
Smithson/Spaling/Halischuk(Stortini)
Unfortunately, once Fisher comes back, Smith will be sent down…it sucks but it’s the truth (I think).

Maybe swap Tootoo and Halischuk and swap out Halischuk for Geoffrion…Halischuk would be the healthy scratch..

If they were to send Smith down after the big build up this summer and all the talk of how good he was in pre-season, it would make management look disengenous. That’s also the reason I don’t think they would cut Bergfors loose even though he seems to have been outplayed by at least 9 other forwards on the roster. All Poile’s talk of Bergfors being a great signing this summer would look silly if he didn’t make the starting lineup.

It's already looking silly.
Make it sillier!
should be interesting to see what kind of lines Trotzy cooks up
I expect to see many many line modifications throughout the season.
