Monday's notes: All-Star Game voting opens
Today marks the opening of voting for the 2012 NHL All-Star Game, so as they say, vote early & often over at Vote.NHL.com for your favorite Preds. Shea Weber, Ryan Suter, and Pekka Rinne are on the official ballot, and there's also room to include write-in candidates as well. Big Ben (the dude with the belly on the Megatron at Preds games) has started a Facebook campaign to build support for Craig Smith, who still stands atop the rookie scoring charts, for example.
So go vote! After, that is, reading your morning hockey notes...

and just a note: if you do a write-in for Honey Badger, you have to use his other name (Craig Smith), because they don’t appear to recognize his true name.
R.I.P. Belak, Rypien, Boogaard, Lokomotiv.

I really like Vinny! He’s always been one of my favorites. He’s a classy guy, and a solid player.

i still think suter is vastly overated. of weber’s goals, suter probably an assist on 90%. this is a pass the majority of nhl d men make. our pp is nothing to write home about and he is our top qb. he bears some responsibility. this year he has done better in shooting more. i still can’t believe he missed saturday when wide open and 0 traffic. he gets penalties by being burned usually by holding/hooking.
Haha, Bill!
Well, to each their own. I gotta say, though, I completely disagree.

My exact (90) ballots minus Horny. I only saw where I could do one write-in!

I voted too
I really like that they’ve changed the voting format this year so that you don’t have to select the players each time. It makes it easier for Honey Badger write-ins!

Ya you can vote really fast
This could also be bad for any preds players. The Habs fans will be voting all day/night.
That just means
You’ll have to use someone else’s computer a few times

Oh yeah, it’s a total popularity contest and bigger fan bases have an advantage. Such is life. I know what’s what, and it’s totally fine with me if everyone keeps underestimating HB and he keeps getting the freedom to drive the net whenever he wants to.
Then he will rule the world! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Honey Badger don’t give a d*mn if he makes it to the All Star game. He knows he could win the backward skating contest. He don’t need to prove it to anyone.
But I hope he makes it :) I voted for him!

Wrote in both Honey Badger and David Legwand.
If he gets in, Legwand can participate in the Skills Competition in the Empty Net Goal Scoring Challenge.

Wait, none of our forwards are on the official ballot?!?!
How can this be? Outrage!!!!! :D
So basically the NHL voting is kinda like voting in the city of Chicago on election day? Vote early and often! :D
Defense keeps you in games........offense wins them!

Yeah, that pisses me off.
Oh, voting in Chicago… how sketchy. Hah, a few years back, there was some guy running for office (I can’t remember what it was; it wasn’t anything REALLY important, but still…) had, I believe, an attempted murder charge filed by his hooker girlfriend, but it was clearly kept quiet because the newspapers held into the info until he was elected so that once in office, they could release the info, get him taken off the job, and put the guy they ACTUALLY wanted in office, in office. I’m trying to find the article on Google right now, but it’s hard to find… I’ll post it if I can find it. It’s kind of hilarious.

Re: Ex-Thrashers GM seeks NHL return
Please no! Are you kidding me? Look at the facts…look at his track record. Maybe he can serve in some administrative capacity – but not as a GM, scouting or any related capacity.
