Blake Geoffrion taken off Injured Reserve, assigned to Milwaukee Admirals
This afternoon the Nashville Predators have removed Blake Geoffrion from Injured Reserve and restored him to the Active Roster, bringing that group up to 22 players (UPDATE: he has now been assigned to Milwaukee, per Dave Boehler at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel). Back on November 28, he took a hard hit from Edmonton's Ryan Jones which knocked him out of the lineup for the last six games.
As Josh Cooper reported this morning, Barry Trotz says that Geoffrion may be was destined for Milwaukee soon in order to get more playing time. He's getting 10:24 of ice time per game this season (up from 8:16 in 2010-2011), but needs more work than that if he's going to grow as a player:
"He's a young player who has to play," Trotz said. "I would probably lean more to, if he's not in the lineup or just coming back, to get some games under his belt so he can be ready to get up here and stick again. I would lean that way more."

remember when
Hornqvist had a really good start his first season, but puttered out and was reassigned to Milwaukee for the rest of the season? He came back the next year after realizing that he had to give 100% every night and potted 30 goals.
I feel like Geoffrion and Blum are going through this same scenario, only it has been split across 2 seasons because they got the late call up last year. Maybe if they work hard like Hornqvist, next year they’ll really show us they belong. In the mean time, lets trade for some “right now” talent.
hockey connoisseur. t-shirt addict. not famous. nerd.
Hope he'll get a lot of ice time, and a chance to really pick it up!
Hands go uuppp..... AND THEY STAY THERE!
