Canadian Kudos for Nashville and Preds Fans
I was listening to NHL Center Ice on XM while finishing some Christmas Shopping today and heard Jim "Boomer" Gordon say this during the Breakaway Show:
What I am about to say will anger a lot of fans in this country (he is based in Toronto), but I have to say it. The best fans, the best atmosphere in the NHL right now is in Nashville, TN. I watched the Predator/Red Wings game last night, and it was a great game. I could feel the energy in that arena coming through the television. They may just be converted college football fans, but they are great. I have not been there yet, but I have to get to the Bridgestone Arena to watch a game.

Nice!
Thanks for sharing that.

You know it!
I tell people all the time that you haven’t been to a hockey game until you’ve been to a Pred game. Growing up a Blackhawk fan there is just no comparison between the games I saw growing up and the atmosphere in the Old Chicago Stadium compared to games at the Bridgestone. Even though the United Center is generally rockin every night now that the Hawks are a good team, it still doesn’t compare to a good Pred game. First game in Nashville made me a Pred fan for life for a reason…the fans! Glad to know the hockey world is beginning to see it too.

I had won tickets for the lower bowl after having already gotten tickets in 308 but my dad came down and after the game I said to him. You wanted to know what the playoffs were like….well that was it right there. He looked at me with a huge smile on his face and said “Ok now I see why you have gotten hooked on it and why you love coming down for the games”
Sidenote: both games he has been to this year they have won. We walked in and as we are going to our seats Leggy scores. I swear he is good luck for the tea,
This is totally cool
and it makes me proud to be from here and have such a great team with such passionate and knowledgeable fans. It must have been deafeningly loud on the ice Thursday night because it was quite loud in section 305.
But aren't college football fans automatically the best at anything they deem awesome?
If I cared more about my UNC side, I'd call myself "Tar Volon," and that'd be awesome.
Bolts, Canes, Preds (now in different conferences!). Canes mini-STH. Southern hockey solidarity
