By the way, I love Zach and he is the Captain. I am only asking if the Devils and Zach cannot agree to a long-term contract and decide to trade him.

You’re talking to the #1 “I want Parise” person at OtF. The problem is that it’s not likely he would sign here after this season, so it makes the whole point basically moot. Lou wouldn’t do it either unless he knew Weber or Suter would stay in NJ.
But I like the thought of this post. :)

I wouldn't do 1 and 2 honestly
why trade an RFA for a UFA? and do we really need to use Rudi’s rights as a throw-in?
I like option #3
IF Parise signs long term right away.
