2 goals in nine seconds against Detroit, right? Dan Ellis’ shutout streak?

One of the latest ones would be the TV Timeout Standing Ovation that Weber scored on while it was still happening.

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:42 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah but its likely this was made before that.

Guess it depends on what they mean by “moment”

Gonna go read that afterward.

Getting rid of Cliff Ronning was a great moment

by cisar on Feb 3, 2011 9:45 PM EST reply actions

You ever notice the photo of him with David Poile getting the silver stick from his 1000th game? Poile didn’t exactly look too happy there. Traded soon after. Bleh.

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:47 PM EST up reply actions

I enjoyed Bubba Berenzweig’s overtime goal against Detroit and Hasek, beating him on the back door play.

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:45 PM EST reply actions

Damn, going deep there. Nice memory.

by cisar on Feb 3, 2011 9:46 PM EST up reply actions

It won’t make it, but that moment really drove my excitement for live Predators hockey.

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:47 PM EST up reply actions

All of you are old.

by Chris Burton on Feb 3, 2011 9:48 PM EST up reply actions

And you live halfway to Jackson…

by cisar on Feb 3, 2011 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

Something like that, anyway, haven’t calculated mileage.

My personal favorite moment

Back when I was in high school I went to a game with friends. We won a nail-biter, and as we walked out of the GEC it had begun to snow heavily. We asked a policeman if he knew whether they had closed the schools for the next day and sure enough, they had! It was a schoolboy’s dream come true.

by Lil cutie on Feb 3, 2011 9:48 PM EST reply actions

You move out there for school?

by cisar on Feb 3, 2011 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

What’s on FSN for everyone else?

Just a little discombobulating

since it was advertised as being “after the game”. Technically they could show it on Sunday and it would be “after the game,” but still…

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:54 PM EST up reply actions

yea

is some boxing thing on for you?

I’ve got an interview with a retired basketball player competing with racism. Pretty interesting actually.

no need to open doors “early” to do that – they already open two hours before.

by Chris Burton on Feb 3, 2011 9:57 PM EST up reply actions

Being a Transformers fan

I just can’t bring myself to call that thing the “Megatron”. But that would be nice, although a top 10 Moments against Detroit would be even better for that.

by OddManRush on Feb 3, 2011 9:58 PM EST up reply actions

The Day the World Stopped in Nashville

If we are going to talk about the the top 10 moments to date, it is hard to ignore that agonizing day when Jim Ballsillie sat there next to Leiopold. No other event in the Preds history created as much chatter across the blogosphere then the chain of events that the press conference started.

However, as equally as important as that day, how can we forget the “Our Team Nashville” campaign and the rally at the arena. The governor holding up the sign will forever be remembered.

by Chris Burton on Feb 3, 2011 10:10 PM EST reply actions

This is another reason why Craig Leipold sucks

This is a quote from ‘Hockey Tonk’, the book he cowrote about how the Preds came to be.

Without the Great One, hockey will never be the same. And while all of the people involved in the game believe there will never be another Gretzky, they believe that he left hockey stronger than he found it, that he built a great base for future stars. Some of them are already on the ice, filling in where Wayne left off: Jagr. Bure. Selanne. Kariya, Forsberg Sakic. Hull. Modano Nieuwendyk. Shanahan. Robitaille. Hasekk. Bourque. Leetch. LeClair. Lindros. Roenick. Pronger. Nolan. Sundin. Ronning. And someday soon, Legwand.

That is right. Legwand, sure, overstepping, but Ronning? Ronning was already pretty close to the end of his career, he was not any of these other guys.

No, not really

He just went back overseas. The Preds still have his rights if he wants to come back over, but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.

It’s similar to what happened with Jonas Andersson. He was over there for the last several years, then decided to give North America one last shot.

I like Antti, too, but he’s not worthy! Vinny in NHL terms would be more like Glenn Anderson, the veteran sniper who fills that “pure scorer” role on a high-level team.

Fair point

I meant more as a quick energy dude. Maybe the analogy would work better if I knew what the Finnish word for “microwave” is.
