Cal O'Reilly is expected to skate today for the first time since his injury way back on Jan. 2
via one of the Preds' official Twitter accounts, some excellent news on Nashville's injured center. Keep in mind that the word is "skate", not "practice".

One of our players is actually healing!
Keys to the game: GF>GA
I think you send down Halischuk and work Cal back in by sitting JP, who plays a “similar” role, in that they’re both excellent passers. I have no problem with a 16/5/33 line, on paper.

One thing that line would have is size. ORLY and Willy are big guys, and Blake might get lost in the shuffle in front of the net. ;)
O’Reilly is a big guy? Kind of on the lean side.

I am happy to hear this, but in no way do i want him to play anytime soon . There’s no way he will be anywhere near ready for end of the season competition for weeks, not to mention playoff ready, if we get there.
What does Trotz call it?
catching the train? Freight train? Moving fast? hay caramba.
Maybe the Ads need some help from O’Reilly? can he go down and play there while he’s trying to get back into the Pro hockey mode?

He’d get claimed on waivers in an instant.

Guesses on how far away he is?
I say 6 weeks. So that would be smack dab in the middle of Round 2 of the playoffs.
I wonder
About Jay Levin’s practice report today. He said that Legwand and Erat were skating Grey team with ¿Weber? and he had Tootoo both on Yellow team with Smithson/Spals and with Green team with Boomer/JP/Halischuk. Conspicuously absent from his report were Wilson and Ward. Was the information just typed in wrong, or were these guys absent today regardless that Levin said
- For the second day in a row the 21-man roster participated in on-ice activities.

For Cal?
I don’t know if there is anyone I want to scratch. The team is really starting to get some nice chemistry happening and I don’t think it would benefit the team to insert him back in this late. I understand it’s still a couple weeks away from happening, but still…
just my 2¢
I live in the OC.
The one in OH.
you wouldn’t even scratch Legwand to play O’Reilly?
