Scoreboard watch chat thread - March 30

Creating this Fan Shot chat so that we can point and laugh at Detroit for getting scored on at least nine times tonight. By St. Louis. Or maybe 10 times....it's under review...

Don’t you wish you were there? Look how many empty seats! I guess it’s pretty surprising that anyone is still there…

Might not want to get used to this – Datsyuk and Howard, iirc, are back on Saturday.

"Nothing." - Tuukka Rask, after being asked what he saw on Shea Weber's game winner in overtime.

Yeah, but we’ve got to revel in it while it lasts. : )

yes yes yes go Flames

best if it’s in regulation, but at this point, it doesn’t particularly matter. The Flames are done, most likely.

Does anyone know whether this is the first blowout against them since 8-0?

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:10 PM EDT reply actions

yes, and 8-0 was the worst defeat since ‘82 if I’m not mistaken

"Who own da Chiefs?!"

And it was a game ’til the ENG.

Not that we’ve never had a game like that, but still.

Actually, that’s an interesting question. I’ve been at two game at which the Preds had seven goals scored on them, but has it ever gone to double digits?

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Worst I remember is the 6-1 loss to the Kings earlier this season.

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 10:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Interesting tidbit I found looking for the answer to that. Everyone knows we are best against CBJ all time.

Who are we worst against? It surprised me: the Dallas Stars. 19-27-1-1

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions

Huh. Surprises me, too.

And I guess the 6-1 game against the Kings is one of the ones I’m thinking of. ATL scored 7 on us a couple of years ago. My son and his friend pulled their stocking caps down over their faces, and the fans booed the team as they left the ice.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm looking at hockeyreference.com.

We lost 0-8 to Philly in the inaugural season.

(Heads back to site).

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Yep, that’s it, 8 is the most the Preds have allowed on multiple occasions. Never 9 or more.

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 10:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Cool…I can quit looking. Was up to 06-07, in which ’Hawks scored 8 on us (but we scored 6 on them…a goal-fest.)

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Actually, I have to see how many times we’ve had 8 scored on us. Found #3: Buffalo in Feb. of ’08.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Minnesota in April of ‘09. I don’t remember that at all.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:01 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh, yes I do.

Last game of the season. It was ugly. Killed our playoff chances.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Sharks last year, 8 on us, but we scored 5,

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:02 PM EDT up reply actions

That is all.

Philly, Chicago, Buffalo, Minnesota and San Jose each scored 8 on us (one time each).

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:04 PM EDT up reply actions

And I was at that game, so I definitely remember it.

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 11:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Preds scored right away and it was pretty back and forth. Minnesota had 2 ENGs.

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions

It's hard to tell which post you're responding to...

…you were at the game in CO? Did you go out specifically for that game? If so, that had to be a bummer.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Oh, yeah,

I meant MN. I clearly should go to bed.

Nah.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:07 PM EDT up reply actions

It was my friend’s bday and we had seats by the Wild bench/entrance area. I was up there for a few days. We went drinking downtown St. Paul afterward and drew attention with my Preds jersey, but they were plenty respectable. I was bummed about being out of the playoffs though.

by DonBorvio on Mar 30, 2011 11:08 PM EDT up reply actions

It says a lot about the western conference and the NW division

that the Flames are in 2nd in that division…

I’m worried about the safety of that little boy behind the Wings’ bench in a Blues jersey. His family may need an escort to their car.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 10:21 PM EDT reply actions

Wings got their feathers plucked!

That’s the good (and funny) part! But after the chewing out they’re gonna get after the game from Babcock, they might not be a pleasant team to play on Saturday night.

by Grizzledbear on Mar 30, 2011 11:10 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

I don’t find Detroit to ever be a pleasant team to play against :)

"Nothing." - Tuukka Rask, after being asked what he saw on Shea Weber's game winner in overtime.

by Chris Burton on Mar 30, 2011 11:12 PM EDT up reply actions

4 times this season they’ve been pleasant to play against. :D

by Grizzledbear on Mar 30, 2011 11:36 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

May we soon make it 5. It’s a nice number. Four fingers and a thumb, each for a win.

Best they could do is make it a 4-2 series. I’m not going to look it up, but I’m guessing it’ll be our best record against them if we also win on Saturday.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 31, 2011 12:03 AM EDT up reply actions

I think I’m watching Calgary’s dim hopes fade, as we speak. 3-1 Ducks.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:16 PM EDT reply actions

How lucky were we to get Hiller for his 10min rehab show the other night! Amazing how Emery has come back the way he has. I certainly didn’t think he’d ever play in the NHL again let alone play this well. Ducks GM might be deserving of GM of the year for the moves he’s made this season.

by Grizzledbear on Mar 30, 2011 11:27 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Hiller probably had nightmares.

by LuvthePreds on Mar 30, 2011 11:32 PM EDT up reply actions

And with that empty net goal by Perry, I think the Flames season just got extinguished (couldn’t resist that!). :D

We just have to beat out one more team now to make the playoffs…..sounds easy at least.

by Grizzledbear on Mar 31, 2011 12:14 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

I was at hockey-reference.com, looking at our remaining games. There were links to Stub Hub for tickets to those games. You can pay a cool $9999.00 for a ticket to the last game of the season, in STL. I clicked on it, thinking that was unbelievably steep, even for a suite. It’s upper arena tickets:

http://affsrv.stubhub.com/st-louis-blues-tickets/blues-vs-predators-4-9-2011-972259/?ticket_id=279987308

Think someone forgot a decimal point?

Silly Blues fans.
