Would you ever accept Alexander Radulov back as a Predator?
Obviously with all the offensive woes this team has and no real answers in the minors, would you be happy / upset / ticked off / ecstatic if Radulov decided that the KHL sucks as a league and he decides to return to the NHL? He would be an interesting study as to if his contract is still valid with the Predators (I am pretty sure his final year would still stand).
What say you guys and girls?

come on, guys
i think there’s more to the jason arnott question than re-hashing up this story’s old bones.
people need to realize that the defector’s gonna be gone until he’s of no use to anyone & if we take him back we’d probably be doing the club more harm than good.
You'd rather have back a 38 year old has been?
Wow. Just…. wow.
I disagree.
Radu is probably the best sniper the Preds have ever had in uniform. Actually it’s not even close, he is!
Option #5......trade his rights to another team...
I wouldn’t want his presence on my team, but I would take a good draft pick/prospect in return for him. But I don’t see him coming back to the NHL anyway, he wants to be the star of whatever team he’s on and he can do that in the KHL.

though i answered never below, i agree. i would bargain in “good faith” and ship his a$$ out ASAP. never would he enter my locker room.
Y'all are crazy!
I’d bring him back without a doubt.

Your poll is lopsided.
You have 3 negative choices and 1 positive. Well 2 negative and 1 comical, really.
But anyways, YES I WOULD LOVE TO SEE RADU BACK AS A PRED! AND I WOULD NOT BE MAD AT HIM IF HE RETURNS TO THE FRANCHISE. He is a winner! He is a scorer and is valuable in the playoffs!
He will return someday! When he does come back let’s welcome him with open arms because we need him very much!
I have several thoughts on the matter...
First of all, I don’t hold out any hope that he’s ever coming back. I’m not in the “Please stop bringing it up” camp—speculation doesn’t hurt anyone…but I just don’t see it ever happening, at all, even a little bit.
If he DID, however, come back, and the news broke that Poile had magicked him back to Nashville, I would be ecstatic because it would mean the following:
1. He wanted to be back in the NHL
2. Much pew pew pew for little cash monies (at least for a year; he’d have to honor the final year of his contract).
3. He’d passed the sniff test by Poile, Trotz, and possibly the team. (I’m not sure how the process would be handled, or who would get a say)
4. He’d finally be forced to live up to his obligations (well, sort of)
But mostly,
5. He’d have to face Captain Shea Weber when he walked into the dressing room.
Head up, stick down.
moot point
he’s never coming back. why would he? He would take a huge pay cut and would no longer be the top dog. Life is too good for him in the KHL, and there is nothing for him here. So don’t hold your breath waiting for his return.
Would I Welcome Him Back To Nashville?
What is in a heartbeat?, Alex. I know it’s not likely, but it wasn’t likely a country boy that didn’t give a wiz about hockey 7 years ago would become a passionate hockey fan. Crazier stuff can and will happen. With the time he spent early in his career in North America, one has to believe he will want to play in the NHL again at some point. Was he fun to watch or not? Insane(no pun intended) ability!
NOOOOOO!!!!
I don’t care how many points he would score for the team. This team and town doesn’t need the Vince Young of the Predators. If he wants to be catered too and not play defense. Then he can stay in Russia and play in the KHL. The best players in the world play in the NHL. Radulov decided on his own he couldn’t handle playing with the best.
I did watch hockey in 06-08 But,
Radulov DECIDED that he couldn’t hack being a team player and wanted his butt kissed(like VY in Texas) in Russia. When he shafted the Preds, I decided I didn’t want him on the team. He chose to go back to Russia no one from the Predators or the fans told him we didn’t want him. The team just wanted him to grow up and put the team first. Which he doesn’t have to do in Russia.
Let him play his one more year
If he wants to come back, let him play the one year he has remaining on his contract. If he does okay, then we keep him. If not, then let him go to the Islanders.
A similar no-risk situation we had with SK74 this year.
I'm from the OC.
The one in OH.
He signed a 2year extension in Russia.
He has a minimum of 3 years left there. He is done here. Forget about him already.
YES!
He can’t come back unless his KHL team releases him from his contract. They won’t.
no, I won't forget about him.
And even if I was talking about not believing the contract. You think NHL is less powerful than the KHL? Oh he wouldn’t break contract to go to the best hockey league in the world. When has breaking contract been an issue to him? Other KHL’ers have left the KHL to return. Can you say Evgeni Nabakov?
I can't say Evgeni Nabokov.
Not any more—I’ve heard it pronounce too many ways.
NAH-bah-kahv
NUH-bah-kahv (?!)
Nuh-BAH-kahv
Nah-buh-kahv
Nah-bah-KAHV
Sihv
Lee-kee sihv
I think the last one is closest to correct, personally.
Head up, stick down.

Having your KHL team release you from your contract and beeaking it without their consent are two totally different issues. It’s doubtful that Rads KHL team would release him and there are no indications that Rads wants to break that contract.

I'm just saying, if he wanted to do what he did in 08 at the end of this years KHL season or 1 year from now I wouldn't be surprised.
Actually I would be but I just don’t think he’s done with Nashville.
There wasn’t an agreement between leagues before Radulov went to Russia. It happened right after he signed there. It was really unfortunate for us and we were at the center of all that mess. Nabakov’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.
I'm just saying, if he wanted to do what he did in 08 at the end of this years KHL season or 1 year from now I wouldn't be surprised.
Actually I would be surprised but I just think he will eventually return.
He recently signed a three year contract in the KHL, meaning he will not come back until after the new CBA which he is probably hoping will nullify his contract and allow him to sign anywhere for the price he’d be worth. He left under pressure from Russia and looking for money, not because he got homesick or something. If Radulov comes back (probable given the NHL is the better league and now he can make just as much money in the NHL as in the KHL w/out an entry level deal), the KHL brass that lured him away would be very insulted if he accepted a sub $1mil salary in the NHL. Radulov is tearing up the KHL which would make it embarrassing for them if he is not a premier player in the NHL. Ironically, his being used as a legitimizing asset for the KHL and subsequent return to North America may ultimately end up an illustration of the KHL’s best not being able to be a premier player in America. On the other hand, maybe he goes crazy and lights the NHL up. Either way, there is a whooole lot riding on any possible return. The situation remains loaded with plenty of off-ice drama.
I doubt he comes back for a long time, considering the 2014 Winter Olympics taking place in Sochi, Russia. He has a chance to establish himself as the game’s top star in his home country by continuing to dominate the KHL, then lead his team to victory in the Olympics.

He is done here realistically
But there is always a way to forgive some one with his kind of talent.
Fans will forget his misdeeds the first time he scores a hat trick.

You are right.......
There will always be SOME fans who will forget a Big time player misdeeds… There is always be some….
No bullets huh?
I guess I would go with the tazer option then.
Seriously, I think he would be a cancer in the dressing room and we can’t afford anything that screws up the work ethic that the Preds have established. However, I would be amenable to his return if the rest of the players were comfortable having him back.

Here's an idea:
(If he ever DID return)
1. Give him a special jersey to wear in practice…one with a target painted on it.
2. Tell Shea to go ahead and get all the friendly cannon fire out of his system.
3. ???
4. Profit!!!
Head up, stick down.
I don't think he has a problem with the players...
… just with upper management lowballing him. I don’t blame him for leaving (with the loophole).
How did management lowball him?
They couldn’t negotiate a contract extension until he began playing the final season of his entry level deal. He wanted the big Russian Rubel and he got it, not much management could have done on that front.
by Grizzledbear on Mar 16, 2011 12:58 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Actually, he wanted an extension....
…. which is possible starting on July 1, 2008 of his final year of his contract (which is really when the final year of his contract started).
Poile waited… and waited… and waited… Radulov got a monster offer in Russia and left July 11, 2008.
Poile played chicken and lost… big time.
Of course he wanted an extension......
but so does every player in the final year of his contract. How many players get an extension right at the first month when they’re eligiable for one? Weber still hasn’t signed a new deal. Rads wasn’t going to sign here regardless of the situation. He’s where he wants to be.

And how is a total of 11 days equivilant to "waited and waited and waited"?
by Grizzledbear on Mar 16, 2011 10:47 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Waited and waited and waited.....for a reply from Poile.... and...
The difference between this and Weber is that the KHL and NHL have a transfer agreement. At the time (and small ass window it was), the previous transfer agreement expired.
But by your own statement......
there was only an 11 day gap between when Poile could open negotiations and when Rads bolted for the KHL. That’s hardly “waited & waited”. I’m quite frankly not a big fan of Poile, but on this one I can’t fault him on.
by Grizzledbear on Mar 17, 2011 7:08 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
an 11 day window for just a reply??
I don’t mean that there was only an 11 day window for a contract. Poile did nothing. No contact. Nothing. I’d be miffed too if I didn’t at least get a “We’ll discuss this soon”
Did Rads agent make any calls to Poile?
11 days is hardly a reason to pack up your bags and go to another league if you really wanted to stay in the NHL. Rads wanted to get his big pay day immediately, not wait a year for it. His brother did the same thing when he played in North America as well. Could be that they just miss Mother Russia…….
