Does Mask Design Hint at New Logo?

Via Icethetics. Cool new mask for Peks that celebrates Nashville. The mask also features what is possibly one of the secondary logos for the new jerseys next year.

it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. personally, i think it may be a bad time to get new jerseys if the team continues far into the playoffs. though if done well, i do support the idea of having a yellow road jersey…though i hope there is enough navy in it to allow the team to wear navy helmets still. i think a yellow brain bucket will just be too much…

On Daveart’s Facebook account where that photo is, I surreptitiously asked about that “NP” mark and whether it was something that he came up with or not, but since he hasn’t responded, it leads me to believe he’s not supposed to talk about it.

It’s a bit awkward to be a should patch, so I’m thinking it’ll be a simple logo on either the helmet or the pants (like the current 3rds used to have an NP logo on the pants)…and obviously used in some promotional materials.

One thing is that the current third uniform has a stylized NP on the shorts (that I admittedly do not like), so I could see something similar with that. I do like how the P makes a fang, and this subtlety leads me to think there might be something more to it.

I’d hate to lose the current PREDATORS font that is used. I like it stylistically but if they want to do a complete rebranding, I could see the wordmark being altered as well as the jerseys.
