Some Good Vibes In Rhyme For Game Six

p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 13.0px Arial} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 13.0px Arial; min-height: 15.0px}

Unfortunately, my fellow Forecheckers, I will not be there for game six.  As one of the many, many Nashville based singer/songwriters I get scheduled to perform on occasion; even during important playoff games.  Unbelievable!  However, I will more than be there in spirit, and will make sure every television within my line of sight is tuned to our boys.  And in the meantime, I thought I'd compose a rhyme of my own to commemorate this history making moment. Besides, I'm too psyched to sleep!  Hope you enjoy it!

GAME 6

Its the day of game six and all through the city

The buzz is still hot 'bout a shot by J. Smitty

And lines would be forming, some to buy tickets

Others to skate and shoot pucks through Duck wickets

There's Leggy and Ward-o with goals on their minds

One has the speed, the other the grind

And though smilin' Marty can't be there to join

We can still count on Sully with his freshly healed groin

And Fisher is flying like his skates got grease

With Horny nearby to crash at the crease

They'll make some puck magic with passes from Kosti

Turning biscuits in baskets to free for all Frosty's

And Spaling and Smithson will seek their rewards

By grinding the corners and crashing the boards

And no Duck is safe from our own game warden

"It's open season!" declares Mr. Jordin.

Forget superstitions, forget about luck

We got youthful skill with Bam-Bam and 'Chuck

They got the moves that every team wants

And veteran guidance from Professor Dumont

And there ain't no slacking along the blue line

With Cali's own Blum and his partner Klein

Hard hitting Shane comes in weaving and dancin'

Or setting up wristers for his buddy, Franson

Last but not least comes our all star three

Two Olympic stars, one Vezina nominee

Blockers and stoppers, a puck cannon shooter

Pekka Rinne, Capt. Weber and Suter

So bring on the coaches and bring on the plans

Bring it on Smashville and fill up the stands

Bring on Barry Trotz with plays and pep talks

Tell Shane S.O.B. means "Stay Out-a-da Box!"

Lets do this thing now, lets make history

And prove "Hockey Town" is in Tennessee

Don't wait for game seven, there's no time to delay

For 6 represents greatness, 6 represents Shea.

LETS GO PREDS!!!!!!

Well, that was impressive.

I entered ten puns in a contest, hoping one of them would win. Sadly, no pun in ten did.

Day-After Coda

“They did it, y’all!” we shout from the stands—
Jubilation all around for thirteen-year fans.

The Ducks and their deeds had our blood full aboil
But our guys played the game according to Poile.

So jump up here on the wagon! We’ll hire us a band.
There’s plenty of music in the Land of the Seventh Man!
