The Predators took out a full page ad in today's Tennessean. A really neat gesture. The text reads: Citizens of Smashville, It was a season of tremendous excitement in Smashville, where a historic run to the post season saw the Nashville Predators advance to Round Two of the playoffs for the first time in their history. Thanks to the fans "Standing With Us" Nashville has made a name for itself as a true hockey market. Through the continued loyalty and support of the Smashville faithful, the Predators gained recognition and respect across the League for their never-ending passion, tireless work ethic and endless resilience. Twenty two Nashville Predator sellouts at Bridgestone Arena, and advancing for the first time to the Western Conference Semifinals are accomplishments of which to be proud, but we are not yet satisfied, and we as a team are committed to building upon those successes. As we head into the offseason, we would like to congratulate our outstanding 2011 NHL Award nominees David Poile (General Manager of the Year), Barry Trotz (Coach of the Year), Pekka Rinne (League's Top Goaltender) and Captain Shea Weber (League's Top Defenseman). From the players and coaches to the owners and staff, we'd like to thank everyone who supported us this year. We look forward to seeing you again next season, where even more firsts will be achieved as we work towards our ultimate goal: raising the Stanley Cup in Smashville! Sincerely, Nashville Predators"
