Friday's notes: Let the Madness Begin!

Canada has it right, they give the entire country the day off work to enjoy the first day of NHL Free Agency.

Us poor schmucks here in the States will have to follow the action a little less closely, but that won't stop us, will it? Not me, I tell ya! Tune in to The Afternoon Press Box on WNSR (560-AM) around 1:00 this afternoon, as I'm joining Darren McFarland and Brad Hopkins to talk some puck. Like I said late last night in my Free Agency Preview, I think the Preds need to look at supporting players who shift the overall Shots For & Against battle in Nashville's favor, rather than get into a bidding war over this or that sexy name.

Sam will also be running a live blog of the festivities today, so that's where you'll want to go to follow the action from around the league. For now, jump on in to your morning hockey news...
