Cool work here, so I've added this to the front page - Dirk.
In most cases, my family gives me a hard time for holding on to things too long. Documents, old books and magazines - anything that doesn’t immediately seem useful. This is one of the times that particular "skill" came in handy.
Using several materials from the past few years, I made a Predators-based collage as a gift for my mother a little while back. The bulk of it consisted of cutting out player outlines of the Preds Press magazine covers. (The ones from this past season were not usable due to the color overlays.) Add in some filler elements from old ticket book covers, promo materials and other logos and you have all the components. (Larger image here.)
I originally saw this concept near the main counter at Otter’s Chicken on Music Row. An employee created it and brought it in to add to the sports items on the wall there. She later left and took all her Predators items with her. Still, I remembered how nice that one looked and thought to do this for my mother who joins me at all the home games. Economical, too, since it only cost me the frame!

Yeah, I wanted to get as many different people on there as I could and in the different uniforms and all, and we both liked Pihlstrom while he was here so he was a natural. There were two players she did not care for, so I didn’t include them. And thanks, XVIII. I only wish I’d taken a better photo. I might have to go see the folks this weekend so I might get a shot of it in its new home.

It was Arnott and Dan Ellis. Never did like either. And for whatever reason, the Zidlicky ones I had did not look that good. If I had a good Yanic Perreault or Mike Sillinger, they’d be on there too.
This is...incredible.
Reminds me of my bedroom wall. I started working on this when I was 8 years old.
