(unofficial) Nashville Predators 2011-2012 Video Promo

A video I put together about the upcoming season. I'm fairly new to video editing, but I plan on devoting most of my videos to the Nashville Predators. Tell me what you guys think!

UPDATE: I think this is pretty incredible, so I'm putting it on the front page. - Dirk

(Idk if it's legal to promote something like this on here, but if you're going to delete this, please watch the video first because I think it will change your mind :) )

Very nice work, mmarti68

You really cut to the music well, and the last segment with names (including the new guys) is hugely impressive. The opening, though, could use a brighter track. The shots are so sparkling, the moody soundtrack muddies the mood a little bit. Looking forward to seeing your skills put to use in the coming season!

A Great start

Just wanted to say I loved the piano intro. However, after that, it was rather boring and slow…But you have the foundation for a great video. I would look for some other music after the piano section. It needs more ups and down

You're hard to impress

I thought this video was fantastic.

Musical suggestions… so you can keep the rocking theme + instrumental music = Apocaplyptica.

Great job and nice touch introing the new faces. Glad you didn’t use head banger stuff because I get enough of it when the season starts.

Very inspiring….Lets drop the puck already.

Thank YOU. Great job. I don’t know much about video editing, so take this for what it’s worth, but two thoughts.

Music. Seems almost standard that when you see a video highlight package like this, you’re going to listen to either an urgent piano/orchestral piece of music like the one you have or a bit of metal, as Don mentioned above. I’m not sure why. It just seems like this is always the case. You may want to think about what music speaks for Nashville. This is one of my complaints with the music at the arena during the games. If you close your eyes, you could be in any NHL arena. I wish the music gave you a sense that it was coming from Nashville. And you might be surprised what works well with hockey highlights.

Video. Maybe mixing in a wider variety of highlights (big hits, team bench, skate of the union, etc.) would help the goal replays stand out a bit more. For example, if Hamhuis were still on the team and part of this package in the player-specific highlights at the end, it would be great to see a hip check, not a goal from the point.

Just two amateur thoughts but very minor. Great stuff. Thank you for sharing.

Shoot, one more thing. Length is perfect. I think 3-4 minutes is a good target, maybe even less.

by el pucko on Aug 31, 2011 4:47 PM EDT up reply actions

thanks for the suggestions! i agree with you on mixing it up a bit. this was kind of a learning experience, but i think the end product is pretty awesome for just a learning experience.

plus, i’m at a serious lack of videos. the only decent quality videos i could find on the skate of the union were on the preds website, and idk how to download straight off their website :/

well, does anyone have some advice on music in the future? confession, the only music i listen to is hardcore music (aka headbanging stuff) lol. so i could use any suggestions for finding good music to put with a video like this.

in fact, the way i got this song was very unoriginal. idk if you’ve ever seen ‘nashville predators inception video’ thats on youtube, but i went to that artist and used his next best song.

I want a thorough review of Power Play highlights set to this:

Powerplay highlights?

So a 20 second video?

"The Final Countdown" is now playing in your head. You're welcome.

Nevermind.

Guess I should have watched the video first.

From left field...

Freddy King’s “Hideaway” for the scene-setters. Keep what you have the rest of the way.

lololol i think red wings bloopers would be more appropriate to that music.

Music Suggestion

Since you like the headbanging music, I would like to suggest/request Your Betrayal or anything else really by Bullet for My Valentine.

Enjoyed the video.
