Scouting Report
Here's what Seth had to say leading into this summer's Development Camp:
Flynn is a defensive forward that loves to play a physical brand of hockey. Ryan is an effective penalty killer and isn't afraid to open up space for or stand up for his teammates when necessary. Flynn must continue working on his skating, but owns a good shot with a quick release.
Arbitrary nickname we'll give him even though he'd probably hate it
"In Like Flynn" - it's up the rest of the team to spring him for breakaways so the play-by-play guy can use that one...
Video
He's definitely a scrapper - this highlight lists includes a couple fights (note how he hangs in there and keeps going, even if he gets the worst of it early on) and then his first two professional goals, which came in the same January game:
What's at stake
Flynn definitely seems destined for Milwaukee this season, but if he can continue growing as a banger and defensive specialist, you never know if he might earn that cup of coffee in the NHL as an injury fill-in.
