Austin Watson, David Elsner, Brent Andrews sent back to Junior teams from Nashville

The Nashville Predators have made the first three cuts from training camp, with Austin Watson, David Elsner, and Brent Andrews dispatched to their junior hockey teams. None were expected to make the pro ranks this fall, as even though Watson was the team's 2010 1st-round pick, he's not old enough to play at the AHL level yet (similar to Ryan Ellis' situation last year). For him, it was Nashville or bust, and it makes no sense to rush him to the NHL level at this time.

Instead, his focus should be on leading his Peterborough Petes to an improved 2011-2012 season, and we'll all keep a close eye on his progress, as he's a strong contender to play a key role for Team USA at the Junior World Championships, which take place in just a few months in Buffalo.
