If ANYONE is going to know, it's gonna be OTF.
For the past week or so, I have been attempting to investigate an observation from one of the Preds' earlier preseason games. Unfortunately (i.e., stupidly) I did not think to take a screen cap of the box score at the time, and I can no longer access the game stats from the first game on September 19th. The second game has a box score, but that is not the game I am interested in! What was this bemusing discovery about the first game that was so important?
Well.
Apparently, Alexander Radulov showed up.
That's correct - I do mean this guy. And apparently he had two penalties (and a decent amount of ice time, from what I remember seeing).
Yeah.
If you are better informed than I am, perhaps you could explain exactly what is/was going on here. My first thought, of course, was to search OtF, NashvillePredators.com, and NHL.com for news of Radulov's return. I found nothing related to his sudden (for lack of a better word) appearance on the roster and game sheet, in any capacity. I even checked the game photos on NHL.com to try and find proof that he played (yes, I went that far - I am fully hooked on figuring out what in the heck is going on). But he was not in any of the pictures (not that there were that many pictures to begin with). It's almost as if he mysteriously showed up in Florida, played one game, and then disappeared...
There is a bit more, but it's not quite as intriguing because it's yearly. You'll see what I mean if you read on.
Sept. 19th's second game's scratch list includes A. Radulov, as does the game against Carolina and tonight's scratch list. Now while I originally was very excited but this, I eventually stumbled upon the inevitable hiccough. Alexander Radulov is always on the scratch list because he still has a year left in his contract (he was on one of last year's preseason game's scratch lists, too). So really, that isn't quite as "telling" as my [admittedly] undocumented discovery of his 4 penalty minutes (which may not be that telling, either, seeing as they are... well... undocumented), but at least there's consistency in his scratch lists.
Anyway, the point of this piece is to appeal to other fans, because I KNOW I'm not crazy. I'm just trying to figure out whether or not he actually played. Did anyone else notice that box score before it disappeared? (Not to mention, where the heck did it go??) Maybe (probably) it was a typo, but I will swear on absolutely any and everything that I saw his name on the roster and score sheet - I checked it multiple times. So while it was probably a typo confusing two players that has since been corrected, this has just been too odd to drop without a fight. I'm more than expecting to find that it was a mistake, but part of me can't bring myself to believe that without really, truly knowing that and not just assuming.
So, all of that being said... does anyone else know anything about this, or am I the lone crazy?

It's a clerical error
because Radulov is technically on the Predators roster, but they issued #47 to Scott Ford this preseason.
Sam just ruined this persons dreams in one sentence, LOL! :D

Huh, yeah that didn't show up in the search.
Oh well… I figured it was something like this. Disappointing, but expected.
Thanks to all you guys for clearing this up for me! I knew I could count on y’all, haha.

I saw the pic of the score sheet with Radulov's name on it as well
I saw the picture on Twitter. But yes, according to everything I had heard, what Sam Page has clarified above is the truth of the matter. Alexander Radulov is still in Russia. Scott Ford wore #47 and someone got confused somewhere and wrote Radulov’s name or something.
Something Funny
In fact, Slava Malamud reports on his exploits: (Note the #KHL hashtag)
@SlavaMalamud Slava Malamud
Alexander Radulov, the #KHL’s early-season assist king, has finally scored. He now leads all league scorers with 1-7-8 pts. #Preds

Alexander Radulov goes on a lengthy rant about #KHL officiating after a SO loss. “Let them kill me in the next game, I don’t care anymore”

R.I.P. Belak, Rypien, Boogaard, Lokomotiv.
Part Predator, part Lightning.
Thanks guys!
Dunno why the search didn’t pull up the other fan post, or why I couldn’t see the box score, but I knew you guys would know what was going on!

Fan: you stay in Salavat the next season?
Radulov: probably not.
At least he didn't come back for this season...
… can you imagine Radulov, Weber, Suter and Rinne all hitting FA status at the same time?!
