taking a cursory look at possible trades
3 players I think could make good, and possible, trade acquisitions:
1. Eric stall
2. ray whitney (if phx continues to fall till the deadline)
3. Saku koivu
Other than that, there just aren’t that many teams with good older players, that are out of the playoffs.

Ray Whitney is turning 40 this year.
He might be doing ok now, but he ain’t gonna be around much longer. I’d rather pick up someone we’re going to be able to have for more than say… one MAYBE two years.
Hands go uuppp..... AND THEY STAY THERE!

i limited to older players
young offensive players aren’t traded very often. I am thinking get a rental to help this year, someone who wont cost the farm. Then, see what is available in the offseason for longer term players.

why does Dish Network suck?
and joins the game “in progress” at 8:30???
hockey connoisseur. t-shirt addict. not famous. nerd.
I guess it's maybe the wording that's disconcerting?
That is odd, though… maybe it means you’re just going to miss the screaming-accompanied anthem and stuff like that?

Oh right

Hatedliving in the Eastern Time Zone. You watch a movie, it’s on ‘till 11. You watch the local news, you’re up ’till after 11:30.
Doesn't really bother me..
I typically don’t go to bed until 1 am or later anyway.
What I hated about Central time during the five years I lived in Bowling Green, was that since it’s at the very east of the zone but Lexington (where I grew up and live now) is at the west… the sun sets/raises at essentially the exact same physical time, but the time on the clock was an hour earlier in BG. Was not at all a fan of the 4pm sunsets in winter. :P

OH! Right, yeah I forgot about that too.
Haha. Sorry!

Why would Preds pursue Ales Hemsky, esp if it would require giving up Ellis?
Hemsky has been a pretty good player in years past, but at 4 G and 17 Pts this season, he would not be in the top 10 for the Preds in either category. Guys like Tootoo, Spals, and HChuck all have more goals. Hardly seems like the sniper many seem to think the Preds need.
This is a rumor that seems to be floating about – and mentioned 2x in the Drunken Indian Hawks program linked earlier today.
evening all..
just another lousy Blackhawks fan popping over to say Hi… feeling confident? You won’t be when Q reveals his “secret weapon”: John Scott is centering the top line tonight..
"Kevin, You can't play Doom Metal while wearing a scarf"
Why would we feel confident….Preds just played last night, and we caught CHI tired last time…so confident no, hopeful yes. I would love to see John Scott and McGrattan go, it would be a good battle.
luckily
we’ll be spared that as Fluffy is in the press box.. his recent partner Bickell appears to be skating, however.. why I’m not sure..

You had to wonder when that was going to happen. If Yip can provide some goal scoring and be the 2 way guy like Smithson? I like Smithson….and I really like the picture above where he looks intimidating but he is one of many.

Does AHL/IHL count?
I’ve never been to an NHL game. :(
by Old Kentucky Shark on Jan 24, 2012 8:52 PM EST up reply actions
Really.
There aren’t exactly many NHL teams in the area. Nashville and Columbus are both around 6-7 hours away.
by Old Kentucky Shark on Jan 24, 2012 8:54 PM EST up reply actions
However
We did have season tickets to the Thoroughblades (AHL) all five years of their existance (1996-2001, how I got into hockey!) and went to a couple away games in the seasons nearby Louisville (Panthers) and Cincinnati (Mighty Ducks) had AHL teams.
Also went to games for the IHL’s Kansas City Blades and Utah Grizzlies when on vacation in those places.
I may not have been to the majors, but I’ve made my rounds in the minor circuit!
