NHL’s FB page says that coverage of the All-Star game, festivities, etc. will be shown on NHL network. It’s not going to be shown on Center Ice? Can’t believe that! I have basic cable and something like 100 channels, and pay extra for Center Ice, but won’t be able to watch anything?

Hope I’m wrong, but it doesn’t look like it. Center Ice says “schedule to resume Jan. 31.”

crisis averted

It looks as though at least the game will be on what they cal Versus at this link:

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/28/2011-nhl-all-star-game-first-event-to-get-cross-channel-priority-on-nbcuniversal/

(Don’t they know that it’s not called Versus anymore?)

Nope – that was 2011, upon closer review.

The actual events (Fantasy Draft, Skills Competition, All-Star Game) are on NBC Sports (formerly Versus), I believe.

Thanks!

Hope so; I have that. Is that synonymous with “NHL Network?” Didn’t think so….

By the way, I have an unrelated question. Why do some links at OtF open a new window, and others take you to a different site in the window you already have open? Is it based on how the link is set?

by LuvthePreds on Jan 26, 2012 7:18 PM EST up reply actions

Yup

If I place a link manually in an article, I generally try to have it open a new window, but many links are automatically placed in for me (like the story titles in a daily notes article), and those are same-window links.

I hope that’s not too annoying, perhaps it makes sense just to leave them all same-window?

…and no, NBC Sports is not the NHL Network.

NBC Sports is what used to be Versus.
