Sunday's notes: Fighting - on the ice, and over realignment

As part of a busy Saturday night around the NHL, Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla scored career goal #500.

There are a few recurring themes which dominate this morning's hockey notes. First off, there is a great deal of discussion around the NHLPA and NHL's disagreement over realignment for the upcoming season, but we move on from there to one team executive saying he'd like to see an immediate ban on fighting in the game, followed by an analysis of how having a fighter who can actually skate a regular shift is a huge bonus (but lumbering thugs are not).

And to top things off, we have talk of a key Predators rival having a keen interest in one of the team's top defensemen...
