Not many observers had much hope that federal mediators would have much impact on the NHL CBA negotiations, but now that that process is behind us, where do the talks go from here? We've had any number of fake "deadlines" and "final, best offers" already, so it appears that the next step would be to have the NHLPA step aside and throw things into some real chaos...
