Extra Bonus OTF Video Caption Contest: Psycho Radulov
It figures that just moments after posting this week's photo caption contest, a video comes along (found via a re-tweet by Dmitry Chesnokov) that I just have to share with you, which begs for it's own bit of caption work by you guys. Here's Alex Radulov on the bench for Salavat Yulaev in the KHL, apparently upset with his coach:
So what's he saying here?

I want some background on this
It’s just so strange to me that no one bats an eyelash over this. Is his coach that wimpy? Is that the coach? The other players, including the guy sitting next to him don’t seem to care. Is that just the culture of that league?
Stunning.
What's the big deal?
Rads gave him a very sincere apology when he halfway waved his hand in the coach’s general direction

No passing on the power play!
(But seriously, he needs psychiatric help – time to move on without him)

Disturbing...
but here’s the caption:
Radulov:" I swear if I have one more bowl of cold soup, I’m going back to the States"
or
“If Poile doesn’t keep calling me, I’m gonna hit him with my stick…like THIS!”

Actually..
That is just their goalie coach that he had absolutely no beef with. However, that does not justify his radical out of control behavior that he ALWAYS carries around. He wasn’t and never will be cemented into the Nashville Predators way of hockey.
Totally misconstrued.
He hits the bench. Accidentally hitting a/the coach, then quickly apologizes.

Really? He swings his arm a long way around just to hit the bench.
Still pretty reckless/careless if you ask me.

Someone on Twitter said it best
Just like Horny slamming the door, Arnott breaking his stick over the boards, it’s called emotions. Some guys emotions don’t get them while some guys go all Incredible Hulk mad. Regardless if Rads is nuts or not, I’d take him in a hot second.

You should probably take a look around our locker room and ask yourself if you see any drama queens with real character issues drawing all the attention to themselves.. you don’t. You never will. It will NEVER work.
Besides, CSKA is buying his rights and signing him long term any day now.
Besides, he would never play a day under an entry level deal.
Besides, he’d only come back if he was IMMEDIATELY reworked a deal to get him more money.
Besides, we have Suter and Weber to sign. You think Poile is stupid enough to buy a flaky russian amidst our situation?
0% chance. Sorry guys.
No offense...
but what do you call the shenanigans Suter is pulling with his contract and holding Poile and the Preds hostage? I call that borderline Prima-Donna behavior.

How is what Suter is doing with his contract status holding the team “hostage”? What’s he supposed to do, just sign to make everyone happy? He earned his ability to become a UFA and it’s up to this organization to make him want to stay here.
Defense keeps you in games........offense wins them!

No offense...
but with the bar you just set, every NHL player that’s ever negotiated a contract is Prima-Donna.
Who are you?
I think he was slamming his stick against the wall and didn’t know the coach was there. I have seen other predators let their emotions get the best of them. We will see if he comes back, but this 7 second clip doesn’t change my mind.

That's what I'm thinking.
I really don’t think he realized his coach was there. Should he have apologized a little bit more than just a wave of the hand? Yea, probably. But if you watch him right afterwards, seething and rocking back and forth, his mind is CLEARLY somewhere else. Was I thrilled to see this clip? No. Does it worry me a little bit? Yes. Do I still want Radulov to come back? Yes.
Hands go uuppp..... AND THEY STAY THERE!
-nashvillepredators-
I mean if people are seriously defending his character, they clearly haven’t followed his career. Walking out on us, walking out on his KHL team over a dispute with management, has a serious reputation for being cancerous in the locker room, throws temper tantrums, performs 10 minute song-and-dance routines after scoring.. like seriously, people here are still wanting him? He’s not a timid rookie anymore.. Barry Trotz wouldn’t put up with it lol.
Wow, you seem to know more about the situation than the rest of us including Poile. There is a story floating around that he’s in negotiations with Poile already to come back this summer. Whether that’s true or not remains to be seen, but it’s as much speculation as what you’ve said which means no one really knows, probably including Radulov himself.
As far as chemistry goes, do you honestly think that if you asked Weber or Suter to make a choice they would turn a talent like Rads away…especially since it would only be a 1 year risk? He’s the kind of talent that puts you in a position to win the Cup…period.

The MOST we get..
is a mid-round draft pick trading him to another club with some money and some balls.
The Preds aren’t ballsy enough? They don’t have enough money to accommodate a true scorer? That comment sounded like you were putting them down.
Are you really a Preds fan?

..what?
We do not have the money afford Rads in the appropriate time frame before he makes his decision on his future in the KHL, no. He will make that decision weeks before July 1, and surely to God we prioritize Suter and Weber more than this guy.
And no, I don’t think we can be as ballsy as teams like Philly, NY, Toronto, etc with our financial situation.
And the points I’m making are irrelevant to what team I follow. Which yes, is the Predators.
Priority should be Weber and Suter, for sure. I was just making a case, in which I did not specify, if the Preds want to make a impression which would sway them to stay, why not be ballsy? Not even in regards to Radulov. Say, a deadline acquisition?
The Preds financial situation is supposedly fine. With a new minority owner in Brett Wilson, everything I’ve heard/read has said that ownership has given Poile the green light to the cap ceiling. Not just because of Brett but he’s a piece of the puzzle.

Oh, I get what you’re saying. I believe Poile when he says that we can and probably will be spending up to the cap ceiling in the near future. And I’m pretty excited about what he has in mind. But we’re still at the floor, and that money we’re not spending is clearly about to go in Suter/Weber’s pocket. I couldn’t see him locking up Rads before those two were taken care of.
I’m just saying with all the things that have to happen, Rads playing in Nashville next season are very, very small.
Can't help but think
I cannot help but think about Rads taking Arnott out of the playoffs with his “celebration hit”. I would take him back even though I hated what he did to our team.
And there is probably no way they would say anything to him over there! The Russian mob doesnt want to lose him!

Another vid
I watched another video of Rads getting into a shoving match with a player after a game and during the "after game, lined up, hand shake)……maybe Toots can give him his therapist’s phone number and he can get some anger management.

This is not news
because that would have gone straight over Trotzy’s head. …and I pity the fool that tries it on Mitch Korn.
Pretty funny though, assuming it wasn’t intentional. I like a guy with a little spirit. :)
Move on along folks...
Nothing new to see here…. The car wreck of Rads…… Hopefully this kills can we get him back? What a baby!! Oops I mean he went Vince Young on his coach. :)
The future belongs to those of prepare for it today.
Oh well, he didnt mean to hit the guy..
Caption is “I knew I shouldnt have left Nashivlle”.. Weber, Suter, & Smith ride in a nice private jet from the All-Star game & I ride in a 727 Delta from 1961 with all these commoners..
