Nashville Predators assign Chris Mueller to Milwaukee Admirals

In the least surprising news of the day, the Nashville Predators have returned Chris Mueller to Milwaukee. This brings them back down to 22 on the Active Roster, with Patric Hornqvist and Brian McGrattan on Injured Reserve.

The Predators just issued the following:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned forward Chris Mueller (KRIHS MEW-luhr) to Milwaukee (AHL).

Mueller, 25 (3/6/86), did not dress for Nashville during its 3-1 victory over Vancouver last night after being recalled earlier in the day.

Once the roster limit is lifted after the Trade Deadline, we could see him back up here as an emergency option. The Milwaukee Admirals might not even make the AHL playoffs, so he would be available.

Expected but I have a question. With Hornqvist and McGrattan still on IR, why are we carrying no extra forwards yet we continue to carry 2 extra defensemen? I understand Horny is close to coming back but still…this put us in a bit of a bind when Fisher got sick in Detriot. Do we send one of the d-men down too?

I hope he is getting some frequent flier miles out of this.

He got one day of NHL salary. That’s not too bad.

Better than Evan Oberg, who has been called up 8 times since Dec 2 and has played in exactly 1 Lightning game for 1:21.

Did he have to pay Tennessee luxury income tax on it?

I thought only visiting players had to pay that.

Hell, I'll take that for not having to play.

This could be interesting...

If Horny and McMuffin stay on the IR. What could we be leaving a spot open for? :)

Wolski

How do you guys feel about Wolski from up in NY? He hasnt played all year due to injury, but was slated to start on the top line with Richards coming into the year. He will probably be traded before the deadline.
