I know in the NFL they are able to do this. Is it possible for players in the NHL to do the same so it is not as big of a hit for the team? As long as he is guaranteed his money over 14 years no matter what... Can he do this? If so, this would help the team pick up players like a Doan or other UFAs so we can make the team that much stronger.
