With four playoff teams from last season waiting on the rest of the Preds' road trip, they'll have to face it without their best goal-scorer.
Josh Cooper shared a grim update on the status of Patric Hornqvist earlier today:
Predators coach Barry Trotz always tries to take an optimistic approach when it comes to player injury. But when he says the words, "he's going to miss some time," that often indicates a player will be out much longer than a week or two. Trotz said that exact quote today when talking about his leading goal scorer from last year.
"Obviously he's out for the rest of this trip, and maybe longer," he added.
The Nashville Predators still have four games left on the current roadie, Monday at Phoenix, Thursday at Los Angeles, Saturday at San Jose and next Tuesday at St. Louis. Who inherits Hornqvist's spot on the second line and the power play in the meantime? There are any number of (unproven) candidates...
