The boisterous Granberry School classroom came to order that sweltering afternoon as one of its alumni sat down to take part in the ceremonies. Young Blake Geoffrion looked eagerly to Predators General Manager David Poile who, after a few words to the crowd, withdrew the paper that signified Blake's journey from the Centennial ice sheet to the world's greatest hockey league. Three years later, Blake's hockey career may be coming to a much too early end. But let's remember that day as one of the brightest in Nashville's hockey history.
