Position Change--Maybe the Only Option

I have been reading a lot (here and elsewhere) of "Trade Ryan Ellis" posts. Unfortunately his value has dropped so dramatically since his last year in Juniors (when we could have gotten a lot of assets for him), that trading him now really makes no sense since we would not get anything valuable back. I have come to believe that his Height and Body Type WILL prevent him from ever being an impact defensemen at the NHL level, or perhaps, even the AHL Level. Yesterday with the rain pouring down I watched a replay of the 2010 World Juniors and was awed by his vision, passing ability, skating, and shot. There is clearly so much talent there, the question is how can we access it. My proposal is that we play him on the wing for the entire season this year in Milwaukee. I only want to see him on the point on the power play. If after a year he has shown that he can play the wing, we now have an asset we can move or utilize as our situation demands. If after that year he has shown that he can't play the wing, are we really any worse off than we are today? Thoughts
