Monday's Dump & Chase: Preds (Prospects) Dominate the World!

Sarah Fuqua

While the US squad was bounced early, several Preds prospects were outstanding at the recently concluded World Juniors. Filip Forsberg was named to the All-Star team, as well as tournament MVP for the silver medal-winning Swedes. Fellow Preds prospect Juuse Saros was also named to the All-Star team, leading Finland to Gold while making 149 saves on 158 shots, and Saku Maenalanen led the tournament with 7 goals in 7 games. My spell-check is screaming at me now, but you can check out all the stats and news from the tournament here. The big question for me is…where to for Mr. Forsberg? He seems to be waaaay too good for these lower level competitions, and the Preds are going nowhere fast…how about playing him here on a real line, for real minutes and see what happens? Nothing to lose at this point. (A special Thank You to Sarah Fuqua for the use of her photo from the tournament…you can see the rest of them here. Check it out!)
