Dirk Hoag

Managing Editor

started writing about hockey online back in the mid-1990's, for sites such as the (long-gone) In the Crease and In 2005, he started On the Forecheck as a general NHL blog, which became, over the course of time, dedicated to Nashville Predators coverage and statistical analysis of the league at large.

Specific aspects of this analysis have been distributed widely (such as the NHL Super Schedule) and cited by mainstream media outlets. Penalty Plus/Minus was even credited with helping Sean Avery win an arbitration case against the New York Rangers.

In October of 2012 he also launched a personal site, Working the Net, dedicated to sharing advice on how to grow an audience online with blogging & social networks, life in the small-but-growing town of Nolensville, Tennessee, and a variety of personal ramblings that don't fit within the confines of OTF.
