Whitfield also said he was surprised that the Predators had taken the step of filing a lawsuit, pointing to a $3.3 million federal tax lien filed against owner David Freeman.

Sommet Group CEO Brian Whitfield throws this tidbit to
The Tennessean in response to the
Predators lawsuit over non-payment for arena naming rights.
Is it newsworthy that Freeman has a huge tax debt outstanding? Absolutely.
What does it have to do with the lawsuit between the Predators and the Sommet Group? Nothing, apparently.
For a guy like Whitman whose business relies upon other companies' trusting the Sommet Group to properly handle sensitive information and backroom operations, this kind of mud-slinging seems like a good way to go bankrupt.
