Thanks in part to tying a franchise record with 10 goals in the month of December, Nashville Predators winger Martin Erat was named this morning to the Czech Republic's Winter Olympic team. This will be his second Olympics representing his country, as he scored the game winner in the Bronze Medal game in 2006 at Torino.
The big question right now, of course, is how badly his knee was hurt in a collision last night with St. Louis Blues defenseman Barret Jackman. Erat left the game late in the 1st period and did not return.
