On the heels of last night's disappointing loss, here are your Nashville Predators news bits & notes:
- David Climer at the Tennessean must have Preds-fever, as he writes about the team's fading playoff hopes, but at the same time giving ownership credit for progress off the ice, most notably in surpassing the key 14,000 average paid attendance milestone.
- The wonderful stats-oriented blog Brodeur is a Fraud looks at the Calder (and Vezina?) candidacy of Steve Mason, and includes a comparison with Nashville's Pekka Rinne at the end.
- I was asked to contribute to Cycle Like the Sedins and their Hockey Orphan series, detailing reasons to love (or hate) the Nashville Predators.
- There's an interesting quote from 2008 1st-round pick Colin Wilson, in an article about his playing in the NCAA's Frozen Four. When the question is raised about more luxurious housing that he could move into next year as a junior, he replies, "there's a pretty strong chance I won't be making it to those dorms," referring to the odds that he'll turn professional instead.
