Nashville Predators announce 2009 preseason schedule

This just arrived from the Nashville Predators:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the Predators will open their 2009 preseason schedule against the closest geographical NHL club, the Atlanta Thrashers, on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. CT at the Sommet Center.

Nashville's six-game preseason schedule includes two other home games: Friday, Sept. 18 vs. the Central Division rival Columbus Blue Jackets (7 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 26 vs. the Carolina Hurricanes (7 p.m.). In addition to its six-game schedule, Nashville will also play a pair of rookie games against the Thrashers on Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Duluth IceForum in Duluth, Ga.

The 2009-10 Nashville Predators are scheduled to open training camp on Saturday, Sept. 12 with testing and physicals at the Sommet Center.  The Predators' first day on the ice will be Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Centennial Sportsplex. The 2009-10 NHL regular-season schedule will be announced at a later date.

Individual game tickets for Nashville's preseason games at the Sommet Center will go on sale in September.  For information regarding 2009-10 Nashville Predators tickets, log onto
