Friday's notes: Preds prepare for a Motown showdown

If you buy something from an SB Nation link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

As a winter storm hits Nashville, hockey fans all over Middle Tennessee can hunker down and load up on their hockey news, in preparation for tonight's big Predators-Red Wings game in Detroit. Be sure to check out Chris' Game Day Preview.

After the jump, we've got enough hockey stories to keep you going until the snow piles up to your ankles (which, as we all know down here, is a downright catastrophe). There's news of the impending sale of another southern NHL team, probably the best profile piece I've read about a Predator all season, an appreciation of Steve Sulivan's still-remarkable return from his back injury (did you realize he's played every game this year?) and a look at the top defensive defensemen in the league.

RADIO NOTE: With the debut of the new noon-3:00 local sports show on 104.5 (which should probably be called "Pure Pigskin" because it's 99% football talk), the weekly show with Terry Crisp has been moved to 3:00-4:00 Thursdays. For this week, however, the show will air today from 4-5:00, due to the fact that the team flew out yesterday afternoon for tonight's game.

Digging deeper into the NHL stats always pays dividends - StarPhoenix
This line of fantasy hockey analysis got me chuckling - "Hornqvist is red hot right now, averaging a point a game during the last month. Nashville is using Hornqvist the way they should have been using Alexander Radulov."
