Weekend Notes: Colin Wilson drops 'em, AHL outdoor game today

While you prepare for another day of watching the Olympics, I've got some morning reading for you. The games don't start for a while, so kick back and enjoy some news from around the NHL. Before we get to that, though, a reminder:

No true big matchups today, with Slovakia being the best team taking the ice. Should be interesting nonetheless:

An inspirational story out of Toronto as Leafs prospect Chris DiDomenico missed nine months with a broken thigh bone. In his first game back in the QMJHL he scored a goal and added three assists in Drummondville's 4-2 win over Victoriaville. Many fans thought he wouldn't see the ice again.

Michael Farber reviews how the process of getting the NHL to Sochi in 2014 is going. While I want to see the players there, I really don't want to see them there for interrupted games and on MSNBC.

Canadian Territorial Dominance vs Switzerland - Behind The Net
Switzerland kept things close against Canada despite getting owned in the faceoff circle. Just in watching the game, I still think the Canadians need some work there before they face excellent draw guys like Ryan Kesler, Joe Pavelski, and Chris Drury.
