Predators look to keep the good times rolling - Wednesday's notes

Getty Images

Being the hottest team in the NHL is certainly a wonderful thing, but the Nashville Predators have no time to celebrate given the slate of games coming up on the schedule. After a tilt tomorrow night in Florida, they'll have a key back-to-back set with the Chicago Blackhawks over the weekend. Beating the Panthers can help push them out of the playoff picture and into the "Sellers" column in leading up to the Trade Deadline. Win those games against Chicago, and the defending Stanley Cup champs could be 7 points behind, with the Preds holding two games in hand.

Can they keep the good vibes rolling, though? We're still waiting to see Martin Erat and Steve Sullivan return to duty, and their talents are still needed, despite the goal-scoring we've seen of late. Last night was fun, but I don't think we can bank on Nick Spaling and Joel Ward lighting up the scoreboard every game!
