I’m going to be in pain saying this, but maybe Gary Bettman was right about Nashville? We’ve had our fun taking shots at the market down there, and wondering why they just don’t move, or bemoaning yet another undeserving Southern market. Yes, it was a Saturday night against what I’m guessing Nashville considers one of its biggest rivals, and yes traveling Hawks fans sure made their presence known . But that was hardly their only sellout this season, and we documented their jump in attendance this year the last time they were here at the UC. Maybe it was the Titans sucking deep pond scum all season that forced the sporting attention somewhere else. Or maybe the Preds have found a better way to market themselves. Either way, it’s a market that’s growing, not shrinking. From today's edition of The Committed Indian, an "alternative" game program sold at Blackhawks games by the gang at Second City Hockey. It's a marvelously incisive and profane piece of work (some NSFW language), and I can't believe they crank one out for every home game.
