Nashville Predators recall Mark Dekanich

Well, this was unexpected:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Mark Dekanich (MAHRK DEH-kuh-nihtch) from Milwaukee (AHL).

Dekanich, 24 (5/10/86), will be making his third appearance on the Predators roster this season. He spent a week with the team from Oct. 10-17 and made his NHL debut on Dec. 18 vs. Los Angeles during his second recall, stopping 22-of-25 shots in 50 minutes of action. A 2011 AHL All-Star, Dekanich is ranked fourth in the American League in wins (20), goals-against average (2.04) and save percentage (.929).

Any theories here, folks? Just a reward for Dex's outstanding season in Milwaukee, or could this be an opportunity to showcase him for a trade, allowing him a better shot at playing in the NHL regularly?

UPDATE: We have our answer - per Bryan Mullen, Anders Lindback is "under the weather".
