Will David Poile be able to add a significant piece to his Nashville Predators at today's NHL Trade Deadline (2:00 p.m. Central)? Injuries have struck a number of cruel blows to a team which appeared deep and talented enough to make a playoff run this season, so the question becomes one of cost/benefit. How much should be invested in the stretch drive for this team, at the expense of the long-term future?
Check out my article from yesterday about some of the financial constraints surrounding the Preds today for a bit of background. In short, to add a major piece I believe they'd need to send salary the other way in trade, and the options there are extremely limited.
