Western Conference scoreboard watch - March 21, 2011

The Nashville Predators have certainly done their part lately, with 3 straight wins lifting their playoff chances, but there's always something to keep an eye on around the NHL each evening. Tonight, there are only two games on tap:

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Detroit Red Wings (6:30 p.m. Central on VERSUS)
For those holding out faint hopes that the Preds could still capture the Central Division title, you can pull for the Matt Cooke-less Penguins to pull out a win in Detroit.

Calgary Flames vs Los Angeles Kings (9:30 p.m. Central)
Another classic "don't go to overtime' matchup features a real dilemma for Predators fans. If you're just hoping they make the playoffs, you want L.A. to win and keep Calgary out of the Top 8. If you want to strive for the highest seed possible, pull for the Flames so the Kings don't move ahead.

While you ponder these games, listen to this segment that Barry Trotz did on the Thom Abraham Show this afternoon.
