Nashville Predators to face Anaheim Ducks in playoffs

With today's victory by the Detroit Red Wings at Chicago, the Nashville Predators end up placing 5th in the NHL's Western Conference, and will face the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The schedule for this opening round should be known later this evening, but until then, you should check out Anaheim Calling, SB Nation's Ducks blog.

Preds roast Ducks 4-1, Pekka Rinne injured - October 8, 2010
The Predators dominated an undisciplined Ducks team, firing 49 shots on goal, but Troy Brodie drove the net and caused a knee injury to Pekka Rinne. That incident put a fright in Nashville fans, but it also gave Anders The Giant his opportunity to shine.

Predators' dive extends to five in late loss to Ducks - November 7, 2010
Without Ryan Suter as well as Rinne, the Preds couldn't keep up with Anaheim in this one, despite coming back to tie this game on four separate occasions.

Predators grab early lead, hold on late for 4-1 win at Anaheim - January 5, 2011
The Predators returned to Duck Country and scored a convincing win, with goals from Jerred Smithson, Sergei Kostitsyn, Patric Hornqvist, and Shea Weber adding the empty netter.

Predators 5, Ducks 4: Survive and Advance - March 24, 2011
In the midst of their drive to the playoffs, the Preds got out to a 5-1 lead over the Ducks and almost gave the game away in the 3rd period.
