Nashville Predators/Vancouver Canucks second-round Game One announced

New, comments

With little time to spare, the NHL has finally announced when Game One of the Western Conference Semifinal series between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks will take place:

The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs gets under way on Thursday night with the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks hosting the Nashville Predators in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal at 9 p.m. ET (Versus, CBC, RDS)...

Keep an eye on NHL.com as the rest of the second-round playoff schedule will be released at a to-be-determined time.

UPDATE: The freshest word from Preds' PR is that NBC/Versus have the first option on game coverage, so those outlets will actually carry the games if they so choose, and Game One will indeed be on Versus. Otherwise, they would be seen locally on FS-TN or SportSouth, with Pete Weber & Terry Crisp providing the call.

With Game One on Thursday, that would set up a Game Two on Saturday as part of Hockey Night In Canada. I'm guessing the start time for that game won't be determined until the Montreal/Boston series completes. If the Habs win, surely the NHL would want to set up a Saturday night double-header, meaning Preds/Canucks would start late. If Boston wins, it's possible that an earlier start might be more appropriate.
