Tuesday p.m. notes: New Nashville Predators road jerseys to debut this weekend

One of the burning questions around Nashville this summer has been what the new team jerseys will look like, and thanks to PA Announcer Paul McCann over on Hockeybuzz, we finally have an idea of when we might see them.

Follow after the jump for that, and a ton of other hockey notes including the official end of NHL hockey in Atlanta, and a CBC reporter's take on the Shea Weber situation...

The "Toast of Music City" balloting has opened for 2011, and I'd appreciate your vote for OTF as Best Blog in Nashville; just click the banner below to head over there, where you can vote daily (click the green button)!

Paul brings word that we should get a look at the new road jerseys at this weekend's draft. Now, will Poile trade up into the 1st round so we can see it Friday night rather than wait until Saturday?

CBCSports.ca - All eyes on 1 agency, plus 30 thoughts
Elliotte Friedman chimes in on the Shea Weber agency change, including this: "Rightly or wrongly, Weber's move is seen as a sign of dissatisfaction with Newport, a sign that he wants to stay in Nashville first and foremost. There is a belief he will avoid arbitration and sign with the Predators (probably in the neighbourhood of $6-$6.3 million per year)."

The Hurricanes can't keep up with the cap-max teams, so this piece whines that "their bottom-line losses may not be as high as they used to be, thanks to revenue sharing from the NHL, but the competitive imbalance is almost as large." Baloney! The disparity between rich & poor teams was much, much greater in pre-lockout NHL.

Here's one way to look at faceoff performance... I prefer to index relative to PP/EV/SH workload, and the last time I examined this, I didn't see a huge home-ice advantage in the data, so I'm not sure there's a need to filter down to road games only.
