This morning's hockey news brings the polar extremes of excitement and sadness from the hockey world. On the bright side, Nashville sports fans can look forward to a new FM sports radio station hitting the air, which will serve as the flagship for Predators game coverage.
But on the downside, the NHL has been struck by tragedy once again, as Rick Rypien of the Winnipeg Jets was found dead in his home yesterday at the age of 27.

Hockey Night in Nashville: Preds must have 'shoot first' mentality

Study: Too many pro teams for Nashville? - Nashville Business Journal
Is Nashville able to support its current pro sports teams? By this study the city may be a bit overextended when available personal income is considered, but at least it has the advantage of being a growing city, unlike other members of the list like Detroit or Cleveland.
