The Nashville Predators are heading to Carolina for a pre-season game with the Hurricanes this evening (6:00 p.m. Central start, with a radio stream available on the Hurricanes' site). Buddy Oakes posted the Preds roster for this game, a pretty young group which includes mostly prospects. Given all the injuries around camp right now (Fisher's shoulder, Geoffrion's wrist, and Josi's "upper body" all have them out for now, and Nick Spaling is just about to return from a groin pull) there is certainly opportunity hanging out there for these guys to compete for.

Canes Country has the Carolina view of things heading into tonight's matchup, so follow after the jump for a few links to tide you over until the puck drops, and use the comments below to discuss the action!

Crappy news? Absolutely - and given his "trading paint" style of play, one has to wonder how this season is going to go for Mike Fisher.

I'm down with something like this idea... bumping up the start of the season by a week or two, with a corresponding shift for the Stanley Cup Finals.
