Today's afternoon hockey notes begin, of course, with the latest updates coming out of today's practice (other than Shea Weber's fine). For starters, Josh Cooper reports that the Preds' forward lines remain the same as we saw last night...

Nashville Predators News

Still No Gill

Hal Gill went another day without practicing with his teammates, and the longer this goes, the more you wonder if, even once he starts skating, he might need a day or two of practice to get back up to game speed before rejoining the lineup. This is a concern for a blueline which got exposed a bit last night, as Roman Josi and Jack Hillen in particular both had some rough patches.

Chet's Back

The Nashville Predators have recalled goaltender Chet Pickard from Milwaukee. As happened last spring, the expectation is that Pickard will help in practice and give Pekka Rinne a bit of extra rest between games. Jeremy Smith is on his way back to Milwaukee to help with a critical weekend set of games for the Admirals, since Anders Lindback was OK enough to back up Rinne last night.
