There are just two games on the NHL schedule tonight, but they both involve teams fighting to make the playoffs facing potential spoilers:

Washington (40-31-8, 88 PTS) | Tampa Bay (36-35-7, 79 PTS) | 6:00 NBC Sports |
Edmonton (32-38-9, 73 PTS) | Los Angeles (39-27-13, 91 PTS) | 9:30 |
In the East, the Capitals are two points up on Buffalo for the 8th spot and hold the tiebreaker with three games remaining. They'll face a Lightning team which has been among the Eastern Conference's best on home ice. A side angle to watch here is the potential for Steven Stamkos to reach the 60-goal mark; he has 56 so far, and the Lightning have four games left.
Even though the Los Angeles Kings current sit in the Pacific Division lead, they're only 2 points ahead of 9th-place Dallas, so they absolutely need to beat the Oilers at the Staples Center tonight. Edmonton is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games, however, so they're not exactly rolling over.
