Out of Town Scoreboard Watch for April 2, 2012

There are just two games on the NHL schedule tonight, but they both involve teams fighting to make the playoffs facing potential spoilers:

Visitor Home Time / Network
Washington (40-31-8, 88 PTS) Tampa Bay (36-35-7, 79 PTS) 6:00 NBC Sports
Edmonton (32-38-9, 73 PTS) Los Angeles (39-27-13, 91 PTS) 9:30

In the East, the Capitals are two points up on Buffalo for the 8th spot and hold the tiebreaker with three games remaining. They'll face a Lightning team which has been among the Eastern Conference's best on home ice. A side angle to watch here is the potential for Steven Stamkos to reach the 60-goal mark; he has 56 so far, and the Lightning have four games left.

Even though the Los Angeles Kings current sit in the Pacific Division lead, they're only 2 points ahead of 9th-place Dallas, so they absolutely need to beat the Oilers at the Staples Center tonight. Edmonton is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games, however, so they're not exactly rolling over.
