After having been put on waivers by the Nashville Predators yesterday, winger Zach Boychuk has been claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes, according to the NHL's Media Site. Boychuk's removal from the Preds' Active Roster clears a spot that could potentially filled by Hal Gill, who skated in today's morning practice and has not played since February 23rd. Patric Hornqvist also skated this morning, but if two players come off Injured Reserve, another move would have to follow, such as sending another player back to Milwaukee.
So far this season, Boychuk has played one game with Carolina, seven with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and five with the Predators.
