Season Summary

Going into the trade deadline, Santorelli was one of the more sought after assets in the league. He was a solid center who provide a scoring punch on the third line. Or at least that is what the Predators thought they would be getting. Santorelli was having a good season in Toronto before the trade deadline. He put up 11 goals and 29 points in 57 games for the Maple Leafs. Unfortunately, that pace couldn't be sustained in Nashville for Santorelli. Whatever the case may be, he just could not get anything going.

With Nashville, Santorelli was only able to put 4 points in 22 regular season games, and 1 goal in the playoffs. It was not the lack of effort either. There were numerous occasions where his speed was able to generate some quality scoring chances for himself and line mates. But instead, we were left with nothing to show for it.

Predators' fans can play the "what could have been game" with Santorelli, but in all honesty, it doesn't even matter. Jon hit it right on the head a while back. Nashville was left just waiting for Santorelli to score goals.

Highlight Moments

Considering that he only had 1 goal and 3 assists with Nashville this season, there isn't much to highlight here for him. I guess he will always have this moment:

The Road Ahead

I think we can all agree that this move did not end well. The only question now is if David Poile and the Predators organization want to bring him back.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Poile says the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Preds?src=hash">#Preds</a> will probably not re-sign Franson or Santorelli.</p>&mdash; Thomas Willis (@TomAWillis) <a href="https://twitter.com/TomAWillis/status/604705215003004929">May 30, 2015</a></blockquote>

Well, I guess that answers that.
